Community Meeting on 24th April 2025 with Charlotte Cane MP
Lode with Longmeadow is a tranquil and very friendly village equidistant from Cambridge and Newmarket. For a small place, it packs a punch in terms of community spirit and engagement. As well as a CofE Church, bountiful allotments, community orchard, clubs, coffee mornings, local walks and waterways, the village has a well equipped and beautifully appointed village hall and sports pavilion called Fassage Hall. This building comes into its own during cricket season, at the summer fete and the autumn apple pressing day. It can also be hired privately for meetings and functions. The village also has a pub/Thai restaurant and benefits from being adjacent to Anglesey Abbey, a large country house and gardens, owned by the National Trust who also maintain Lode watermill and the woodland and fields around the village.
